Diagnosis. Medium size (about 4.0 mm length). Ocellar triangle protuberant; proboscis yellow; antenna with scape and pedicel brown and postpedicel yellow; palpus brown, with long apical setae. Scutum rounded, moderately high, less than height of mesopleuron; yellow with bow-shaped dark brown band anteriorly; pleura yellow; prosternum narrow. Abdomen dark brown, with yellow and long lateral setae. Legs yellow except tibia and fore tarsus, mid tarsomeres 3 and 4, distal 2/3 of hind femur, hind tibia and hind distal tarsomeres brown; mid tibia with very long setae. Wing hyaline, with large brown infuscation on distal third, extending to upper half of cell m1; pterostigma elongate and brown.

Geographical distribution. Bolivia (La Paz) ( Fig. 119 View FIGURE 119 ).
Comments. This species is similar to S. fuscescens , S. amazonicus sp. nov. and S. equatoriensis sp. nov. in having a reasonably high scutum, about half height of mesopleuron, slender legs with femora slightly enlarged and elongate pterostigma, but it can be easily distinguished from the cited species by the scutum with a dark bow on anterior portion and by characters of the male terminalia.
