Linnean name definition. Type genus Proceraea Ehlers, 1864 .
Nodebased name definition. Procerini refers to the least inclusive clade comprising Imajimaea zonata ( Mohammad, 1973) , Imajimaea draculai ( San Martín & López, 2002), Virchowia [ Langerhans, 1879] Nygren, 200X, Levidorum [ Hartman, 1967] Nygren, 200X, and Proceraea [ Ehlers, 1864] Nygren, 200X.
Apomorphies. Clade supported by six morphological apomorphies ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ): 1) nuchal epaulettes extend to end of tentacular segment (character 8), character state change is a parallelism, character later reversed within clade, character further changed within clade, character state unknown in some taxa; 2) cirrostyles alternate in length present (character 16), character state change is a parallelism, character later reversed within clade, character state unknown in some taxa; 3) cirrophores on short cirri absent (character 17), character state change is a parallelism, character later reversed within clade, character state unknown in some taxa; 4) cirrophores on long cirri absent (character 18), character state change is a parallelism, character later reversed within clade, character state unknown in some taxa; 5) chaetal teeth in median and posterior chaetigers with distal tooth smaller than subdistal tooth (character 31), character state change is a parallelism, character later reversed within clade, character state unknown in some taxa; 6) reproductive mode equals anterior scissiparity (character 51), other MPRs possible, character state unknown in some taxa.
