Diuncus mucronatus ( Eggers 1923) comb. n.
Previous genus: Xyleborus
Discussion. The holotype of X. mucronatus is probably lost ( Wood & Bright, 1992). Specimens available to us were not suitable for neotype designation as they were neither from the same region, nor identified by Eggers. However, two non-type specimens (SMTD, identified by Schedl, and JH coll., identified by R. A. Beaver) were nearly identical to each other. Further, they were nearly identical to the holotype and several non-type specimens of Diuncus conidens (Eggers) . It is likely that these two species are synonymous.
Examined material: Philippines, Luzon, Mt. Irid, ( SMTD), PNG, Madang, J.H. coll. 2004.
