Myopa occulta Wiedemann in Meigen 1824: 145 ; type-locality: “Gelten” [ Germany]; syntypus 2♀ [ MNHN]
Diagnosis. see Chvála (1961).
= M. nigrifrons Bonsdorff, 1866
Myopa nigrifrons Bonsdorff, 1866: 17 ; type-locality: “Sääksmäki ( ♂)”, “ Tammerfors ( ♀) af Woldstedt ” [ Finland] ; Syntypes 1♂ 1♀ [MZHF]
The male and a female syntypes of M. nigrifrons are both deposited in the collection of MZHF, where they were kindly examined for this study by J. Kahanpää. Both specimens fit to Myopa occulta Wiedemann (Kahanpää in litt), as does their original description. Therefore, M. nigrifrons is herewith confirmed treated as a junior synonym of M. occulta . This synonymy was published without additional comments in Kahanpää & Stuke (2014).
