Genus Spinorthocladius View in CoL n. gen.

Type species: Spinorthocladius enigmaticus View in CoL n. sp.

Etymology: This genus is named after Orthocladius and the spinose gonocoxites of the male.

Diagnosis: 13 flagellomeres; acrostichals absent; MCu absent; 2 strong spurs on ta1 and ta2 of mid and hind tibiae; anal point present and reduced; 1 strong spur at apex of male gonocoxite (main diagnostic character).
