11. Mapania hainanensis Merr. View in CoL ( Cyperaceae ) in Lingnan Sci. J. 9(1-2): 35. 1930. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Shue Mi Shan , 25 May 1928, W. T. Tsang 495 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 17244) (holotype: UC 373791 image!; isotype: NY 00051313 image!).
The name Mapania hainanensis Merr. was validly published with a gathering Tsang Wai Tak 17244 in UC designated as the type (Merrill, 1930). However, the collection number on the label of the holotype specimen is 495, while the herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 17244. Thus, the erroneous collection number cited in the designation of type is to be corrected.
