Discussion
From our research only six species of the family Kateretidae are listed from the fauna of Iran, but with 84 species the family Nitidulidae is rather diverse in Iran ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). However, since Iran is a large country with a wide variety of geographical regions and climates, we expect that a large number of species remain to be discovered. Research on the natural enemies and host plants of Iranian Nitidulidae are valuable topics which should be considered by researchers, and we hope that this checklist will help facilitate this research.
