Marantelophus sanandajensis HAKIMITABAR & SABOORI 2015 nov. syn.

M a t e r i a l e x a m i n e d: Sicily, San Teodoro Randazzo , 7 May 2014, 1 larva from herbaceous plants ; leg. R. Haitlinger.

This species was described as Hauptmannia rudaensis . Later it was transferred to the genus Rudaemannia ( HAITLINGER 2000) . MĄKOL & WOHLTMANN (2012) transferred it to the genus Abrolophus and recently HAITLINGER & ŠUNDIĆ (2014) this species transferred to the genus Marantelophus . First record from Sicily.

Recently from Iran was described M. sanandajensis HAKIMITABAR & SABOORI 2015 ( HAKIMITABAR et al. 2015)). Metric ( Table 4) and meristic data of M. rudaensis and M. sanandajensis are identical. M. sanandajensis should be regarded as a synonym of M. rudaensis .
