Key to the Lesteva species of Taiwan

1 Larger, 3.90–4.60 mm. Forebody reddish brown to dark brown; elytra without maculae or spots, unicolorous. Parameres distinctly shorter than apex of aedeagus ( Watanabe 2005: Figs. 2–4 ) ................ L. chujoi Watanabe, 2005

2 Pronotum strongly transverse. Body reddish brown; each elytron with yellow brown macula, extending from shoulders towards suture. Punctation of head and pronotum very dense, small. Habitus as in Fig. 1 . Body length: 3.35– 3.70 mm. Aedeagus small, moderately wide ( Figs. 3–4 )................................................................... L. smetanai sp. n.

- Pronotum moderately narrow. Body dark brown to black; each elytron with yellow roundish spot in middle. Punctation of head and pronotum sparser and larger. Habitus as in Fig. 2 . Body length: 3.70–3.80 mm. Aedeagus very long, narrow ( Figs. 5–6 )................................................................................................
