Distribution. Argentina ( Young 1977): Misiones ( Remes Lenicov et al. 1999). New records: Jujuy (Los Manantiales, Yuto), Salta ( Orán, Tartagal, Urundel, Yatasto, Pocitos), Tucumán (Lules), Corrientes ( Santo Tomé).
Associated plants. Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb. ( Remes Lenicov et al. 1999). New records: Citrus x limon (L.) Burmeister, Bauhinia candicans Benth. (Fabaceae) .
Biological data. M. leucomelas was recorded in low numbers on citrus orchards in Misiones province associated with citrus plants and surrounding vegetation ( Remes Lenicov et al. 1999).
Natural enemies. Hymenoptera Dryinidae ( Remes Lenicov et al. 1999) .
Phytosanitary importance. Confirmed vector of X. fastidiosa subsp. pauca to plants of Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb. with 17.3% transmission efficiency ( Fundecitrus 1999) and to Olea europea L. ( Lopes & Froza 2021).
