Type species Guajirolus ektrapeloglossa Flowers 1985 .
Diagnosis. Dorsal side of glossa bears a regular transverse row of long, stout setae ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 36–40 ). In contrast to Chane , proximal segments of maxillary and labial palps are not greatly shortened, and distal segments of the palps are not greatly elongated, without long filtering setae.
Composition. The genus Guajirolus includes 5 formally described species, among which only two species can be recognized, G. ektrapeloglossa Flowers 1985 and G. rondoni Salles 2007 (see «Discussion» under G. ektrapeloglossa ).
