Current status: Lixus gracilicornis Capiomont, 1874 View in CoL is a junior synonym of L. iridis Olivier, 1807 View in CoL .
Type. In Capiomont’s collection at MNHN, is a female pinned through the right elytron bearing a handwritten label “M. Chevrolat”, and fitting description with type locality as Syria. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, Ƥ, Lixus gracilicornis Capiomont, L. Gültekin des., 2004”.
Remarks. Petri (1904b) first established Lixus gracilicornis Capiomont as a synonym of L. iridis .
