Current status: Lixus incarnatus Gyllenhal, 1835 View in CoL is a junior synonym of L. iridis Olivier, 1807 View in CoL .
Type. In Schoenherr’s collection at SMNH, under the name “ Incarnatus , Schh., 6–7, Ghl.” is an immature female pinned through the right elytron (elytra weakly separated, left antenna missing) bearing the handwritten label: “ L. umbellatarum Fabr., Jec : Schneider”. The type locality is not mentioned, but the specimen is indicated as “A Dom. Schneider”. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, Ƥ, Lixus incarnatus Gyll., Gültekin des. 2006”, “ Lixus iridis Ol .. Gültekin det. 2006”.
Remarks. No type locality is indicated in the description, and it is only reported as “ A Dom. Schneider”. Gemminger and Harold (1871) first established Lixus incarnatus Gyllenhal as a synonym of L. iridis Olivier.
