Current status: Lixus flavescens Boheman, 1835 View in CoL is a junior synonym of L. rubicundus Zoubkoff, 1833 View in CoL .
Type. In Schoenherr’s collection at SMNH, under the name “ Flavescens , Schh., 97–141, Bhn.” is a male pinned through the right elytron (elytra separated) bearing the handwritten label: “Sarepta, Steven”, and fitting description with type locality as Sarepta. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, 3, Lixus flavescens Boh., Gültekin des. 2006”, “ Lixus rubicundus Zoubk., Gültekin det. 2006”.
Remarks. Ter-Minassian (1967) first established Lixus flavescens Boheman as a synonym of L. rubicundus Zoubkoff, 1833 .
