Current status: Lixus fasciatus Petri, 1906 View in CoL is a junior synonym of Lixus lecontei Faust, 1883 View in CoL .
Type. In Reitter’s collection at HNHM is a female holotype (left fore tarsus beyond segment 3 missing) bearing the labels: “Transcaspi, Eylendt” printed, “ Phillixus fasciatus , Type, Petri” handwritten, “Monotypus, 1906, Lixus (Phillixus) fasciatus Petri ” red brimmed museum label, “Coll. Reitter” printed and “ Lixus lecontei Fst., Gültekin det. 2008”. According to the original description the type locality is “Transcaspien”.
Remarks. Synonymy of Lixus fasciatus Petri, 1906 with Lixus lecontei Faust, 1883 was first established by Winkler (1932) and followed by Csiki (1934).
