Current status: Lixus biimpressus Gyllenhal, 1835 View in CoL is a junior synonym of L. paraplecticus (Linneaus, 1758) View in CoL .
Type. In Schoenherr’s collection at SMNH, under the name “ Bi-impressus, Schh., 2-2, Ghl.” is an immature female pinned through the right elytron (elytra strongly separated) bearing the handwritten label: “Sibir: occid. Gebler”, and fitting description with type locality as Sibiria occidentalis. It is here designated as the lectotype with “ Lectotypus, Ƥ, Lixus biimpressus Gyll., Gültekin des. 2006”, “ Lixus paraplecticus (L.), Gültekin det. 2006.
Remarks. Capiomont (1874) first established Lixus biimpressus Gyllenhal as a synonym of L. paraplecticus (Linneaus, 1758) .
