Lixus semilunatus Petri, 1904 View in CoL
Lixus semilunatus Petri, 1904: 235 View in CoL
Current status: Lixus semilunatus Petri, 1904 View in CoL is a junior synonym of Conorhynchus mixtus (Fabricius, 1792) View in CoL .
Type. In Reitter’s collection at HNHM, is the female holotype (formerly pinned through the right elytron with a large pin which transversely cracked elytron, right middle leg missing, remounted on a paper card) bearing the handwritten labels: “Maderia, Fuente, Coll. Em. Friv.”, “ Lixus semilunatus n. sp. Petri”, “Monotypus, 1904, Lixus semilunatus Petri ” red brimmed museum label, and “ Conorhynchus mixtus (F.), Gültekin det. 2008”. It is the holotype of Lixus semilunatus . The type locality is Maderia.
Remarks. This species was misidentified by Petri (1904c) at the generic as well as species level. It is conspecific with Conorhynchus mixtus (Fabricius) , as clarified by Gültekin (2006). Thus, a new combination and synonym is proposed here: Conorhynchus mixtus (Fabricius, 1792) [= Lixus semilunatus Petri, 1904 comb. and syn. n.].
