TYPE LOCALITY: Nicaragua, Matagalpa, Matagalpa .

DISTRIBUTION: NW Nicaragua, Honduras.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Neotoma . Hall (1981) suggested that chrysomelas is conspecific with N. mexicana , a proposal that should be considered appropos of a much-needed revision of the latter.
