TYPE LOCALITY: Zaire, Luluabourg .

DISTRIBUTION: N Angola, NW Zambia, S and E Zaire, and W Tanzania.

COMMENTS: A very distinct species, but aspects of its morphology resemble some species of Lemniscomys (e.g., L. griselda ).
