TYPE SPECIES: Paraleptomys Wilhelmina Tate and Archbold, 1941 View in CoL .
COMMENTS: Member of the New Guinea Old Endemics ( Musser, 1981c). Based on cranial and phallic traits (Lidicker, 1968; Tate, 1951), Paraleptomys is traditionally considered closely related to Leptomys , but this hypothesis requires testing.
