TYPE LOCALITY: Papua New Guinea, Eastern Highlands Prov., Kratke Mtns, Buntibasa Dist, 4000-5000 ft m .

DISTRIBUTION: New Guinea; known from a few mid-altitude localities on N slopes of Central Cordillera in Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea, and on Huon Peninsula (Mt Rawlinson); see map in Flannery (1990b); limits unknown.

COMMENTS: Phallic morphology and its systematic significance described by Lidicker (1968).
