Material examined. Several specimens, some photographed, in Bayur and Maninjau, Province of Sumatera Barat, and Tigapulan Mts., Province of Riau.
Taxonomic comments. This species is widespread throughout Sumatra.
Distribution on Sumatra. Provinces of Aceh, Sumatera Utara, Jambi, Sumatera Barat, Riau, Bengkulu, Sumatera Selatan, and Lampung; also the islands of Engano, Nias and Simeulue, and Riau Archipelago ( De Rooij, 1915; Y. Laumonier, pers. comm., 1998; this work).
Biology. One of the most frequently observed lizards at day time, this species has been found in gardens, cultivated areas and along forest edges both in August and November.
