FEMALE

Gnathosoma. Anterior margin of epistome convex to subtriangular, smooth or denticulate, with line of denticles subparallel to margin and/or with rayed series of ridges. Setae h1 and h3 subequal in length, longer than pc which in turn is longer than h2; insertion of h2 about in transverse line with insertion of h3. Inner palp trochanter seta not elongate. Deutosternum narrow, with delimiting lateral lines and seven rows of 1–3 denticles each. Corniculi about twice as long as their basal widths, with pointed tips, subparallel. Cheliceral digits of similar lengths; fixed digit with 6–9 teeth in addition to apical tooth; movable digit with two teeth in addition to apical tooth.

Idiosoma. Ovoid to roundish. Dorsum: podonotal and opisthonotal shields fused and covering the whole dorsal surface of the idiosoma, reticulated, without distinct lateral incisions at region of fusion, transverse and nearly straight lines, delineated strip along lateral margins or posterior tubercles; anterior end of dorsal shield not strongly deflexed. Podonotal region of shield with 22–23 pairs of setae (z1 absent; a pair of supernumerary setae present in N. asetosa Kandil and N. sinuata Athias-Henriot ), including r3, which is similar to neighbouring setae. Opisthonotal region of shield with 19–22 pairs of setae. No setae on unsclerotised ventrolateral cuticle. Dorsal idiosomal setae of similar lengths, very short, acicular and smooth. Venter: a pair of presternal platelets, bearing st1. Sternal shield with two pairs of setae (st2–st3) and three pairs of lyrifissures (iv1–iv3; the latter on slightly convex posterior shield margin); st1–st3 subequal in length; st2 slightly closer to st3 than to st1. Seta st4 inserted on unsclerotised cuticle (absent in N. asetosa and N. meritricha Athias-Henriot ). Genital shield broad, including iv5 and st5; slightly convex posteriorly. Without metapodal plates. Two pairs of platelets between genital and anal shields (on each side, plates may be partially fused). Opisthogaster with five pairs of setae in addition to circumanal setae, of which four pairs on broad, subtriangular ventrianal shield; para-anal setae inserted between levels of anterior margin and mid-length of anal opening, about as long as or slightly shorter than post-anal seta, the latter not stout. Anal opening small, 1/7 to 1/10 of shield length, near posterior shield margin. Anterior section of endopodal shield fused with sternal shield; section behind sternal shield reduced to an elongate platelet that may be fragmented. Exopodal shield distinct, fragmented at several places along coxae II–IV (last fragment extending along posterior margin of coxa IV, almost meeting endopodal fragment near that coxa in N. asetosa ).

Peritreme. Extending from stigma to level of j1, much wider than or about as wide as diameter of stigma. Peritrematic shield wide, fused anteriorly with dorsal shield and broadly connected to exopodal shield beside coxa IV.

Legs. All legs with pretarsi. Setation of legs I–IV, femur: 12, 11, 6, 6; genu: 12, 11, 9, 9; tibia: 13, 9, 8, 10. Leg II not distinctly different from other legs. Legs without macrosetae; telotarsi of legs II–IV each with a dorsoproximal pair of slender, curved, whip-shaped setae and two dorsal subapical setae that are shorter, more spine-shaped than the two ventral subapical setae.

Spermathecal apparatus. Not easily distinguishable.

MALE

Gnathosoma similar to female, but corniculi more widely spaced, fixed cheliceral digit with seven teeth in addition to apical tooth and movable digit with one tooth in addition to apical tooth; spermatodactyl about as long as movable digit, almost straight, curved slightly distally. Dorsal shield ornamentation similar to female. Shape of dorsal setae of idiosoma similar to female. Presternal platelets absent. Sternogenital shield with five pairs of setae (st1–st5) and three pairs of lyrifissures (iv1–iv3); not fused with ventrianal or peritrematic shields; posterior margin truncate. Endopodal shield fused with sternogenital shield. Distinct metapodal plates absent. Ventrianal shield subtriangular, covering basically all opisthogaster, not fused with peritrematic or exopodal shields, bearing four pairs of the six pairs of opisthogastric setae in addition to circumanal setae. Legs without spine-shaped setae.
