Type species: Nicephora (Nicephora) trigonidioides Bolívar, 1900 .

Generic characters. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded. Apical segment of maxillary palpus longer than subapical one. Pronotum without humeral sinus. Thoracic auditory spiracle exposed completely. Tegmina longer than length of pronotum, but not reaching apex of abdomen; male left tegmen with stridulatory file; hind wings reduced. Fore tibia tympana open on both sides, hind tibia with 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs and 1 pair of ventral apical spurs. Male tenth abdominal tergite more or less notched in the middle of posterior margin; epiproct well developed; cerci elongate, with numerous inner processes; subgenital plate with small styli; sclerites of genitalia folded with membranes. Ovipositor shorter than length of hind femur, apices of ventral valvulae hook-shaped.
