Distribution. Worldwide, but more common in the Holarctic region ( Harvey 2013). Records from Iberian Peninsula ( Zaragoza 2007; this study)— Spain (mainland): Girona, Lleida, Madrid, Salamanca and Tarragona provinces; Balearic Islands: Mallorca.
Ecology. Under tree bark, in nests of birds and bees, caves, synanthropic, phoretic on bats, Diptera and Hymenoptera ( Beier 1963; Poinar et al. 1998).
