Material in revised collection: Record of this species “Misa, 06.07.1977 (1 ex., leg. V.Pūtele)” was misidentified and relate to C. fulvus Goeze, 1777 .

Host plants: various Lamiaceae and Compositae ( Bienkowski 2004).

General distribution: Europe (excl. N), NW Africa ( Morocco), Near East, Asia Minor, Caucasus, Kazakhstan.

Note: Occurrence of this species in Latvian fauna is doubtful, therefore it is excluded from the list of Latvian Coleoptera . The nearest known localities of this species are in Ukraine and S Poland ( Warchałowski 1991; A. Warchałowski pers. comm.).
