Figures 1–2 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2
Description. Male. Body medium. Head and pronotum as other species of the genus. Fore coxae with 1 spine; femora with 1 short ventral spine on internal margin; tibiae with 1 internal and 2 external spines ventrally, apices with 1 pair of spines on ventral surface. Middle femora with 1 pair of apical spines on ventral surface; tibiae dorsally with 2 pairs of spines, ventral surface with 1 internal and 2–3 external spines, apices with 1 pair of spines on dorsal and ventral surfaces separately. Hind femora with 1 short ventral spine on internal margin; tibiae dorsally with 20–23 internal spines, 22–24 external spines and 1 pair of small subapical spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal and 2 pairs of ventral spines; basitarsi with 5–6 small spines and 1 apical spine on dorsal surface along the midline ( Fig. 1F View FIGURE 1 ).
Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite concave. Epiproct with semi-circular basal margin, dorsal surface with indistinct median furrow ( Fig. 1I View FIGURE 1 ); middle area with 1 pair of compressed long processes ( Fig. 1H, I View FIGURE 1 ), its subapical area with external margin faintly convex and dorsal surface faintly concave ( Fig. 1I View FIGURE 1 ), apices obtuse and faintly directing backward ( Fig. 1G View FIGURE 1 ); apical half obviously narrowing, nearly triangular, apex with 1 pair of stout spines directing outward ( Fig. 1J, K View FIGURE 1 ). Cerci slender, conical, apices acute. Subgenital plate longer than wide, the lateral margins convex and terminating, posterior margin widely rounded; styli stout, about half as long as subgenital plate, its apices obtuse, inserted on posterolateral area of the plate ( Fig. 1L View FIGURE 1 ).
Female. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with deep concavity ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ). Epiproct longer than wide, dorsal surface with median furrow, apex narrowly rounded ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ). Cerci slender. Subgenital plate longer than wide, the lateral margins of basal half convex, middle area constricted and terminating into a spine, apex acute ( Fig. 2I View FIGURE 2 ). Ovipositor shorter than hind femora, moderately upcurved, dorsal margin smooth, apices acute; apical quarter of ventral margin with small teeth ( Fig. 2H View FIGURE 2 ).
Coloration. Body brown, terga with small black-brown spots, sterna yellowish brown.
Measurement (mm). BL: J 20.8, ♀ 20.0; PL: J 5 .8, ♀ 7.0; FFL: J 7 .1, ♀ 7.9; MFL: J 7 .9, ♀ 8.9; HFL: J 16 .6, ♀ 18.8; HBL: J 3 .4, ♀ 3.0; OvL : 10.5.
Material examined. Holotype: male, Jinzhongshan, Longlin , Guangxi, September 14, 2023, coll. by Xiangyi Lu and Qianwen Zhang . Paratype: 1 female, the other information as holotype.
Distribution. Guangxi (Longlin).
Discussion. The new species differs from other species of Rhaphidophora by: basal margin of male epiproct arched, middle area with 1 pair of compressed long processes, its apices obtuse and faintly directing backward, apical half obviously narrowing, apex with 1 pair of stout spines directing outward.
Etymology. The new species is named for the middle area of male epiproct bearing 1 pair of compressed processes; from Latin word “ flat ” and “ procer ”.
