Type specimen. Holotype: male, Uganda, SW, Kabale Distr., Ruhija , 2,330 m, 01°03.08′S 29°46.70′E, 4–7 xi 2014, leg. L. Aarvik & M. Fibiger; gen. slide no. CIS-7462, in NHMO. GoogleMaps
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to the preceding species T. onsemiro sp. nov. in the forewing color pattern, but can be distinguished from the latter by the larger size, much shorter uncus, not reaching to basal plate of uncus caudally, and the nearly parallel-sided cucullus.
Description. Male ( Figs. 2A, B View FIGURE 2 ). Wingspan 22.0 mm.
Head: Yellowish white, covered with yellowish white rough scales laterally. Antenna shorter than forewing; basal segment elongated, yellowish white all around; flagellum yellowish white throughout, slightly serrated ventrally with fine cilia, without annulations. Second segment of labial palpus ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ) thickened, slightly arched, yellowish brown in basal 1/3, then yellowish white beyond dorsally, covered with yellowish brown scales in basal half on outer surface, yellowish white on inner surface; 3 rd segment slender, strongly upturned, shorter than 2 nd segment.
Thorax: Tegula and thorax yellowish brown. Hind tibia roughly scaled dorsally, yellowish white, mixed with yellowish brown scales. Forewing with broad, dark brown basal zone extending to 1/3 on costa and to middle on dorsum, with oblique outer margin; median band broad, yellowish white, broader in upper half, with concave outer margin; postmedian band narrow, weakly developed, slightly zigzagged; costa arched beyond 3/4; apex obtuse; termen slightly concave before middle; venation with R 1 curved outwardly near base, arising from before middle of discal cell; distance between R 1 and R 2 about 1.5× than that of R 2 and R 3; R 3 stalked with R 4 for basal 2/5; R 5 absent; M 1 remote from R 3+4 at base; M 2 well developed; M 3, CuA 1, and CuA 2 on common stalk; distance between M 3 and CuA 1 about same as that of CuA 1 and CuA 2; 1A+2A nearly not forked at base; cell weakly closed. Hindwing yellowish white to pale yellow, even, on upper surface with bundle of long hair-pencils at base; venation with M 2 absent; M 3 and CuA 1 nearly connate at base; CuA 2 arising from near middle of cell; cell closed. Abdomen ( Fig. 2B, H View FIGURE 2 ): yellowish dorsally, creamy white ventrally, with a pair of long, hair-pencils between segments VII and VIII; sternite VIII weakly sclerotized, concave on caudal margin, with pair of long, clavate rods anteriorly; tergite VIII with a heavily sclerotized, inverted V-shaped sclerite.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 E–G): Uncus broadened distally, as wide as 2/3 of basal plate of gnathos, nearly flat on caudal margin, not reaching to basal plate of uncus caudally. Basal plate of gnathos strongly convex apically, much exceeding apex of uncus; median process broad at base, narrower toward apex, strongly bent downward at nearly right angle beyond 2/3, sharply pointed. Tegumen incised into inverted V-shape on anterior margin. Valva nearly parallel-sided in basal part; cucullus longer than basal part of valva, upturned, nearly parallel-sided, densely setose, with rounded apex; sacculus not developed. Juxta widest in basal 1/3, then narrowed distally, with heavily sclerotized lateral arms, with small, conic protrusion medially on anterior margin. Vinculum band-like. Aedeagus more or less slender, shorter than valva, slightly bent medially, narrower toward apex; dorsal surface produced apically; cornutus absent.
Female unknown.
Distribution. Uganda (Kabale District).
Etymology. This species name is in honor of László Gozmány, who was a leading world specialist of the family Lecithoceridae .
