Measurements. Male: BL: 12.0– 18.6 mm, FL: 6.6–9.2 mm. HL: 1.57–2.39 mm, HW: 1.90–2.72 mm, EYL: 0.56–0.77 mm, TL: 0.71–0.97 mm, PL: 2.28–3.07 mm, PW: 2.00– 2.84 mm, EL: 2.70–3.72 mm, EW: 2.60–3.89 mm. HW/HL: 1.09–1.15, TL/EYL: 1.00–1.36, PL/PW: 1.02–1.16, EL/EW: 1.01–1.11.

Distribution. This species is widely distributed in the south-east of China (Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Fujian, Hunan, Hainan, Guangdong, Taiwan, Hunan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hainan), presumably only in the mountains, at elevations between 350–1500 m.
Diagnosis. The species is similar to P. brachycerus in appearance, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the more rounded temples, longer pronotum, and finer punctation of the head.
