Scaroidana flavida Osborn View in CoL
Scaroidana flavida Osborn, 1938: 50 View in CoL
Pachyopsis clypeatus Linnovuori, 1957: 149 View in CoL
Diagnosis Pygofer (Fig. 99) with apex wide and truncated, ventral process approximately straight in the mid-portion and recurved apically. Aedeagus (Fig. 104) with shaft short and wide, curved dorsally in right angle at mid-length; apex slightly tapered and rounded.
Measurements (mm). Length 10.8−12.7 (male), 13.2−13.9 (female).
Coloration. Uniform yellow ( Figs 93 View FIGURES 93 −95, 105−107), without black markings.
Description. Head, in frontal view (Fig. 95), with ocelli separate from eye margin by distance equal to ocellar diameter in male and separate from eye margin by distance two times wider than in female (Fig. 107). Hind leg with first tarsomere (Fig. 98) with longitudinal rows of ventral surface 6−7 setae; pecten with 7 platellae; second tarsomere pecten with 3 platellae. Other external characters as in generic description.
Male terminalia. Pygofer (Fig. 99), in lateral view, ca. 1.5 times longer than maximum height, approximately subrectangular; ventral process extended to almost pygofer apex, approximately straight in the mid-portion and recurved apically; ventral margin slightly rounded; dorsal margin straight; posteroventral margin rounded; apex wide and truncated. Subgenital plate, in lateral view (Fig. 99), produced posteriorly as far as pygofer apex; in ventral view (Fig. 100) more than four times longer than wide, wider near base and slightly tapered toward apex. Connective (Fig. 101) with stem very wide, as wide as arms, abruptly wider medially, lateral margins parallel apically; apex straight and wide. Style, in lateral view (Fig. 103), with blade curved dorsally; ventral margin serrated, slightly expanded and rounded basally; apex acute, tapered and slightly curved dorsally. Aedeagus (Fig. 104) with shaft short and wide, curved dorsally in right angle at mid-length; apex slightly tapered and rounded. Other characteristics as in generic description.
Female terminalia. Sternite VII with posterior margin rounded, slightly more produced posteriorly than lateral angles. Pygofer (Fig. 108) two times longer than maximum height; posterodorsal margin produced distally. First valvifer (Fig. 109) as high as long, subquadrangular; margins straight. First valvula (Fig. 109) slightly higher near base than near apex, ca. 6.5 times longer than maximum height; dorsal sculpturing starting near mid-length; apical portion (Fig. 110) with ventral sculpture present only near apex, continuous with the dorsal sculpture, apex tapered and acute. Second valvula (Fig. 111) slightly higher apically than basally, ca. 10 times longer than high; apex (Fig. 112) rounded. Second valvifer ca. three times higher than long. Gonoplac (Fig. 113) six times longer than high; dorsoapical margin long, straight; apex tapered, subacute. Other characteristics as in generic description.
