Type Localities. “Brasilien: Provinz Goyaz, Jatahy [ Brazil: Goiás: Jata´ı ].”

Type Specimens Examined. Syntype: male, pinned, “ Coll. E. Ross | Berlin. N 113 [g, t, cb] || Coll. Donckier [t, w, cb] || Jatahy | Goyas. Brésil [t, g, cb] || retipennis | m. cotyp. ♂ | Spaeth det. [t, hw, w, cb] || Polychalca | retipennis | 24.) Spaeth. | Goyaz. [hw, g, bf, cb] || ZMH 824671 [w, bf, sf]” ( ZMH) .

Current Status. Valid subspecies ( Borowiec and Świętojańska 2020; Viana 1964).

Remarks. Spaeth (1913a) described this taxon based on a long series of specimens from the collection of H. Dockier. As Spaeth did not designate the holotype, all specimens must be considered syntypes. We have also studied the type series in the MM, and it is consistent. Thus, there is no need for a lectotype designation.

Viana (1964), in his revision of Argentinian Goniocheniini, considered this taxon as a subspecies of Chlamydocassis metallica (Klug, 1829) . Later, Borowiec (1999), in his catalog, did not recognize any subspecies and listed the taxon as a synonym of the latter species. However, in the internet version of the catalog, it is considered a subspecies ( Borowiec and Świętojańska 2020). We concur with Viana (1964) that the taxon is distinct from typical C. metallica and therefore follow his concept.
