C o m m e n t s: The species was originally published as a variety of B. chilensis REITTER , based on material from " Chili " ( PIC 1920: 4). Subsequent published records are from Concepción: Penco, Santiago: El Arrayan, Nuble: Termas de Chillán, Malleco: near Malalcahuello, Magallanes: Rio Blanco and Cueva del Milodon ( LÖBL 1983: 164). The species may be distinguished by the elytra bearing distinct punctation and with sutural striae starting at margins of pronotal lobe, and by the narrow, straight parameres, in combination.
