Description. Male. Yellowish brown with greenish spots.
Head. Face light brown. Internal margin of antennal socket, scape and pedicel blackish brown. Fastigium verticis stout, conical, apex obtusely rounded, in the centre a shallow furrow is present; dorsal surface of head with 4 distinct dark stripes, area between brown: outer stripes extending to internal margin of antennal socket, continued about two-thirds along the pronotum, medial stripes fused on fastigium verticis ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Eyes round-oval, brown. Apical segments of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical ones, apices slightly inflated; the apices darkish.
Thorax. The outer stripes of the head continued to the middle area of metazona, black, between them with a brown stripe ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ); anterior margin of pronotum slightly straight, posterior margin narrowly rounded; the lateral lobe longer than high ( Figure 2A View FIGURE 2 ).
Tegmina. Tegmina covered by the pronotum, the posterior margin reaching the middle area of second abdominal tergite; anterior margin of the tegmina darker brown ( Figure 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Mirror roughly trapezoid ( Figure 8F View FIGURE 8 ); stridulatory file elevated on thickened vein, 0.37 mm long, with 44 teeth ( Figure 9F View FIGURE 9 ). Hind wings absent.
Legs. All femora without ventral spines. Fore coxae with a small spine. Fore tibiae with 4 pairs of spines and 1 pair of apical spines. Middle tibiae with 3 internal spines and 4 external spines on ventral surface, apices with 1 pairs of ventral spines. Genicular lobes of hind femora with apices obtuse, black, tibiae with 28–29 internal spines and 25–29 external spines on dorsal surface, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spines and 2 pairs of ventral spines, darkish brown.
Abdomen. Abdominal tergites black, sternites darkish. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite slightly projecting, with a trapezoidal median concavity ( Figure 2C View FIGURE 2 ). Cerci. Longer and yellow, curved internally and dorsally in lateral view ( Figure 2D View FIGURE 2 ). One third basal area stout with 1 semicircular dorsal lobe ( Figure 2E View FIGURE 2 ) and 1 nearly triangular ventral lobe. Apical area of cerci obviously slender, slightly depressed, apices acute. Subgenital plate approximately twice times longer than wide, basal half wide, gradually narrowing to median area, basal margin nearly straight; apical half obviously narrowing to apex, the lateral margins not parallel, posterior margin obtusely rounded ( Figure 2G View FIGURE 2 ). Styli conical, apices obtuse, inserted on the middle area of subgenital plate.
Female. Body slightly larger, but same colour pattern as male. Posterior margin of pronotum obtusely rounded. Tegmina surpassing the posterior margin of pronotum, extending the middle area of third abdominal tergite. Lateral margin of eighth abdominal tergite protruding downwards; lateral margin of ninth abdominal tergite arched concave; posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with 1 faint concavity in middle. Ovipositor gently curved upwards ( Figure 2J View FIGURE 2 ), dorsal valvulae sharply pointed and ventral ones with indistinct terminal hook ( Figure 2K View FIGURE 2 ). Subgenital plate nearly rectangular, basal margin straight with 1 V-shaped median membranous area, posterior margin truncate ( Figure 2L View FIGURE 2 ).
Measurements. Body length: ♂ 8.2–8.3 mm, ♀ 8.0–9.0 mm; length of pronotum: ♂ 3.7–3.8 mm, ♀ 3.5–3.6 mm; length of tegmina: ♂ 1.8–2.0 mm, ♀ 2.2–2.3 mm; length of hind femora: ♂ 8.3–8.7 mm, ♀ 8.4–8.6 mm; length of the ovipositor: 6.0– 6.7 mm.
Distribution. CHINA (Yunnan).
Comments. Examination of the type specimens and topotypes reveal that more than one species is involved. Hence, we describe the female sex of Phlugiolopsis (Longiloba) montana Wang, Li & Liu, 2012 .
