Description. Male. Head, mesosoma and metasoma dark castaneous. Mandible with two apical teeth; median clypeal lobe undefined, median tooth undefined; frons coriaceous. Notauli complete; pronotal disc coriaceous. Metasomal tergite II with lateral depression composed of tubercle with wide fovea, thick and conspicuous bristles on the border of each depression. Posterior hypopygeal margin concave. Genitalia: paramere with rounded apex, slightly arched inward, bifurcated in ventral view, wide, specially basally, higher than basiparamere; aedeagal ventral ramus as long as dorsal body, apex weakly rounded, laminar, narrow, strongly constricted; aedeagal dorsal body with three pair of apical lobes, outer lobe long, narrow, apex strongly serrated with bristles, medium pair narrow, apex pointed, slightly arched inward, inner pair wide, apex rounded, strongly slightly arched outward, basal process absent; apodeme extending beyond genital ring. Female unknown.

Remarks. This species belongs to the setosus species-group by having the tergal process with lateral depression with one pair of tubercles and the lateral margin setose. It is not similar to any other species of its species-group. It is different mainly by having the paramere bifurcated in ventral view and the aedeagal ventral ramus strongly constricted.

Etymology. The epithet boibumba refers to Boi-bumbá, it is a popular dance in Maranhian folklore. Treat as a noun in apposition.
