Dissomphalus tubulatus Redighieri & Azevedo, 2006: 320 (♂, holotype from Brazil).

Diagnosis. Male. Black. Mandible with three apical teeth. Clypeus broadly projected forward, median lobe not defined, median tooth conspicuous, sharpened. Frons weakly coriaceous, punctures large, shallow. Vertex straight. T2 with pair hairy pitted median tubercles, separated each other by slightly more than their own diameters. Posterior hypopygeal margin straight. Genitalia: paramere with conspicuous basal setae in ventral margin; digitus with huge basal projection; aedeagal ventral ramus longer than dorsal body, broad, tubular, wide, apex rounded, apical surface partially microspinose; aedeagal dorsal body outer pair very short, wide; inner pair filamentous, arched downward.

Variations. In this series the specimens are quite similar to those previously studied.

Remarks. This species was previously known from Brazil (Paraíba) ( Redighieri & Azevedo 2006). Now it is recorded for the first time from Maranhão and Piauí.
