This species has been recorded in China, Laos, and is newly recorded in Vietnam.
Kumar et al. (2017) described a new species of the genus Stenodyneriellus Giordani Soika, 1962 , namely S. rangpocus Kumar, Carpenter & Kishore, 2017 based on only one specimen, the holotype from Sikkim, India. Carefully examining the specimen, we concluded that it does not belong in the genus Stenodyneriellus Giordani Soika , but Orientalicesa Koçak and Kemal , namely O. confasciatus Tan and Carpenter. Even though the species has the forewing with its prestigma about half the length of the pterostigma (like in Stenodyneriellus ), it has cephalic foveae in female (no cephalic fovea in female of Stenodyneriellus ), and it also has the palpal formula 5:3 (palpal formula 6: 4 in Stenodyneriellus ). Other characteristics of the species fit well with the description in Kumar et al. (2017: 179-181) such as the shapes of clypeus, propodeum, and metasomal terga ( Figs 1, 3, 4 View FIGURES 1–5 ). Below we give some more characteristics of Orientalicesa confasciatus that did not occur in the description by Kumar et al. (2017):
Female vertex with cephalic foveae large, bearing a lot of dense pubescence, situated far from each other, about the distance between two posterior ocelli; depression for cephalic foveae conspicuous, large, hook-shaped ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–5 ). Distance from posterior ocelli to apical margin of vertex long, more than 2.4 × distance from posterior ocelli to inner eye margin ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–5 ). Gena much narrower than eye, in lateral view about 0.6 × as wide as eye. Metasoma with the lateral margins of terga 2 – 4 clearly marginalized ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1–5 ).
Distribution. China, Laos, Vietnam (new record), India (new record).
