Diagnosis. Pronotal collar with three tubercles dorsally and forewing with three submarginal cells (except in some Australian species); second submarginal cell not petiolate, four to six sided. Antennae elongate, scape usually short and stout, flagellomeres longer than broad, those of male unmodified. In female, anterior clypeal margin with several teeth, and in male, anterior clypeal margin usually truncate or with inconspicuously toothed lobe ( Bohart & Menke 1976).
Distribution. Oriental, Ethiopian, Australian, Palearctic (Arabian Peninsula only), Nearctic, and Neotropical Regions.
