Lyroda formosa ( Smith, 1858)

Morphota formosa Smith, 1858: 17 , ♀. Holotype or syntypes: ♀, Indonesia: Sulawesi: no specific locality (NHM).

Diagnosis. First two gastral segments completely ferruginous, and in some specimens this coloration covering up to basal half of third segment ( Figs 42 & 51 ). Dense silvery setae on clypeus, frons, pronotum, apex and sides of scutum, scutellum, metanotum and propodeum, having a yellow tint in some parts ( Figs 43–45, 48, 49, 51–55 ). Silvery pile band on apex of Gt1–Gt3, Gt4 without pile band, Gt5 extensively covered with short silvery setae ( Figs 46 & 51 ). FEMALE. BL. 9.05–9.25 mm. Anterior clypeal teeth as in figures 44 & 63. Propodeal dorsum rugoso-reticulate ( Fig. 48 ). Pygidium triangular, with lateral carinae as in figure 50. MALE. BL. 7.82–7.95 mm. Anterior clypeal margin as in figures 43 & 64. F1 2.0–2.5 × its apical width ( Fig. 54 ). Propodeum rugose ( Fig. 55 ).

Distribution. India: Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi (new record), Karnataka, Kerala, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu (new record), Tripura (new record), Uttarakhand (new record), Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal. Elsewhere: Bangladesh; Cambodia; China; Indonesia; Laos; Myanmar; Oman; Philippines; Solomon Islands; Thailand; Vietnam ( Pulawski 2021; Schmid-Egger & Al-Jahdhami 2021).
