Paratypes. 2 ex. NNU H20241602–3, Shell height 13.67–13.87 mm, width 7.09–7.36 mm, height of the body whorl 8.29–8.81 mm, locality and habitat same as holotype.
Locus typicus. Xuezhuangxiaohe River, Shizong County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, China; 24.63°N, 104.28°E.
Etymology. The specific name " yunong " is derived from the abbreviation of Yuxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical College. We suggest the Chinese common name as " 玉‡华ĸ ".
Description. Shell small, thick, solid, conical, red-black; shell comprising seven to eight whorls, sometimes with calcareous attachments. Shell surface with spiral ribs composed of nodules. The height of body whorl swollen, taking up most of the shell about 60%. Suture low. Aperture ovate, lip thin, inner lip slightly thickened and smooth, white, outer lip blue-white. Umbilicus absent.
Operculum. ( Fig. 2 D View Figure 2 ) Ovate, smaller than aperture, corneous, thin, brown, length 2.92 mm, width 1.93 mm, and the nucleus located at the bottom left about 1/4.
Radula. ( Fig. 3 D View Figure 3 ) Central teeth with triangle-shaped pointed major cusp, and 2–3 smaller cusps on each side. Lateral teeth with pointed major cusp, and 3–4 smaller cusps on each side. Inner marginal teeth with four to five and outer with eight flattened, rounded denticles.
Anatomy. Snout, foot and tentacles grey. Snout broad, squarish, with black spots, with long cephalic tentacles, tentacles greater than snout in length.
Remarks. Shell surface with spiral ribs composed of nodules of H. yunong sp. nov., which is a significant feature that distinguishes other Hua species. Hua yunong sp. nov. is most similar to H. bailleti (Bavay & Dautzenberg, 1910) and H. textrix , but can nevertheless be easily separated by the shell surface without grid-like ribs. The new species can also be clearly distinguished from other Hua congeners by the following features: inner lip slightly thickened, outer marginal teeth with eight flattened (vs. more than or equal to ten flattened in H. vultuosa , H. kunmingensis , and H. liui ).
Habitat and distribution. This species was collected in Xuezhuangxiaohe River, Shizong County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, China. The species inhabits rivers with a depth of less than 30 cm, slow flowing, and the substrate is stone and sand.
