Holotype of Scotobius kulzeri ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 13 – 15. 13 ): [Neuquén/ S. Martín de los/ Andes XI-63 (pro 1963)] [ Scotobius / kulzeri / mihi] [Holotypus / Scotobius / kulzeri / Marcuzzi, 1977] [Museo Genova/ coll. G. Marcuzzi/ (acquisto 2000)] ( MSNG).

Holotype of Scotobius contrerasi ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13 – 15. 13 ): [Fofocahuel - Leleque/ Chubut/ II-69 (pro 1969)] [ Scotobius / contrerasi / mihi] [Holotypus / Scotobius / contrerasi / Marcuzzi, 1977] [Museo Genova/ coll. G. Marcuzzi/ (acquisto 2000)] ( MSNG).

Discussion. Marcuzzi (1977) described the same species twice in the same paper. After examining the types of both species, they are judged to be junior synonyms of Scotobius alaticollis . I illustrate these new synonymies with photographs of the types of the three nominal species ( Figs. 13–15 View FIGURES 13 – 15. 13 ), based on the characters given by Marcuzzi (1977) for Scotobius kulzeri and S. contrerasi and clearly visible in the types of S. alaticollis : pronotum with base concave, lateral margins raised forming a groove with the disc, posterior angles pronounced and straight, surface of disc with sinuate rugosity; each elytron with five shiny carinae, the second and fourth reach the base of elytron, intercostal spaces dull, plain, with a row of punctures.
