Diagnosis. Eight strong dc bristles, 11–12 irregularly paired acr bristles. Coxa I with yellow hairs and bristles; tarsus I yellow with apical half of tarsomere I5 brown, tarsomeres II2–5 and tarsomeres III2–5 brown; tarsomere I4 with basal half somewhat flattened.
Description. MALE. Body length 5.4–5.9 mm, wing length 4.4–4.6 mm.
Head metallic green with pale gray pollen; face narrow, eyes separate on face. Hairs and bristles on head black; mid and lower postocular bristles pale. Antenna brownish; first flagellomere as long as wide ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 – 7 ); arista brownish with short basal segment. Proboscis brown with pale hairs; palp yellow, with black hairs and 2 balck apical bristles.
Thorax yellow with yellow pollen; scutellum yellow with blackish margin, metanotum chiefly yellow with blackish basal spot; pteropleuron with a small black spot just below wing base, laterotergite with large black spot. Hairs and bristles on thorax black, 8 strong dc bristles, 11–12 irregularly paired acr bristles. Propleuron with 1 yellow bristle and 3 pale hairs on lower portion. Scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles, basal pair about 1/6 of apical pair in length. Legs yellow; coxae I–III yellow; tarsus I yellow with apical half of tarsomere I5 brown, tarsomeres II2–5 and tarsomeres III2–5 brown; tarsomere I4 with basal half somewhat flattened. Hairs and bristles on legs black. From apical half of tarsomere I2 to tip of tarsomere I5 with erect pale ventral hairs. Coxa I with yellow hairs and 4–6 yellow bristles on anteroapical portion; coxa II with black hairs and 2–3 black anterior and apical bristles; coxa III with 1 black outer bristle at middle. Tibia I with 1 ad bristle and 1 pd bristle at basal 1/5, apically with 3 short bristles; tibia II with 3 ad bristles and 2 pd bristles, apically with 3 bristles; tibia III with 3 ad bristles, 3 pd bristles, and row of 4– 5 v bristles on basal half, apically with 3 bristles. Tarsomere II1 distinctly longer than tibia II, with 2 ad bristles, 1 pd bristle at base, and row of 7– 8 v bristles; tarsomeres III1–4 each with row of short v bristles. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs LI 10.5: 11.2: 4.2: 2.5: 2.1: 1.7; LII 13.5: 16.0: 4.5: 2.8: 1.5: 1.0; LIII 19.5: 6.6: 6.6: 3.5: 2.0: 1.0. Wing ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 – 7 ) hyaline; veins black, M1+2 gently bent apically and convergent with R4+5; CuAx ratio 0.75. Squama yellow with pale hairs. Halter brownish.
Abdomen yellow with yellow pollen; terga 2–4 each with a large black basal spot, tergum 5 brown; hypopygium black. Abdominal segment 5 with dark brown ventral projection. Hairs and bristles on abdomen chiefly black.
Genitalia ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 5 – 7 ). Epandrium as long as wide, basally with 2 lateral processes (one short and thin, another long and thick with lateral processes at apical 1/4); surstylus with wide dorsal lobe, ventral lobe long and curved, with apical part swollen. Cercus somewhat round, white, bearing white hairs. Aedeagus black, slen der. Hypandrium short and acute, not furcated apically.
FEMALE. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype male, Guizhou: Leishanxian, Leigongshan (1550m), 5. VI. 2005, YX. Paratype 1 male, same data as holotype. Holotype and paratype deposited in CAU.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality in Guizhou.
Etymology. The specific epithet derives from the type locality in Guizhou.
Comments. The new species is similar to Neurigona xiangshana Yang from Beijing, but can be separated from the latter by having 8 dc bristles and 17–18 irregularly paired acr bristles. In N. xiangshana , 5 dc bristles and 11–12 irregularly paired acr bristles are present ( Yang, 1999).
