The male (MEI 170185) is designated as the lectotype ( SEMC). This lectotype is designated in order to fix the concept of Psilocephala acuta Adams and to ensure universal and consistent interpretation of the same. The other specimens are designated as paralectotypes. The holotype male of Psilocephala pallida Kröber is labeled "Texas, 19. VI." in USNM (Type No. 26018). Other specimens. MEXICO. Tamaulipas.
