DIAGNOSIS.— Adults of this subgenus ( Figs. 12a View FIGURE , 13a View FIGURE ) can be recognized by the following combination of character states: size moderate (BL = 3.5 to 4.8 mm), apterous, body dark, reddish brown to piceous, surface micaceous; pronotum with basal angles prolonged posteriorly as slender digitiform processes, with two setae (midlateral and basolateral) present on each side; elytra markedly convex, inflated, slightly tear-shaped, humeri effaced, elytral discal striae effaced, with two (in most members) or three (in a few members) discal setae present, aligned on interval 3 near stria 3, preapical seta absent from most members.
