Material examined. – 73 specimens - Bukit Timah - 53 ex., Bukit Timah Nature Reserve , 2 Apr.1997, NS 224, coll. H. K. Lua ( ZRC) ; 10 ex., Bukit Timah Nature Reserve , small streamlet in primary forest, 9 Apr.1997, coll. M. Balke & L. Hendrich ( CBH) ; 10 ex., idem, 24 Apr.1997, coll. M. Balke & L. Hendrich ( CBH) .
Ecology. – A lotic species found in wet leaf litter of a small intermittent stream, shaded by primary forest.
Remarks. – Due the lack of suitable literature all specimens of Hydraena have not yet been identified to species level. The specimens from Bukit Timah forest may belong to one or more new species.
