Distribution. – India, Vietnam (d’Orchymont, 1925a; Hansen, 1999). First record for the Malaysia Peninsula and Singapore!

Ecology. – A lentic species living in very shallow water at the edge of exposed, well-vegetated, mostly temporary pools, puddles and slow-flowing ditches, in primary and cultivated areas. It is also attracted to light.
