Measurements. BL: 4.4–5.2 mm, FL: 2.4–2.9 mm. HW: 0.88–0.98 mm, PL: 0.75–0.82 mm, PW: 0.76–0.81 mm, EL: 1.12–1.23 mm, EW: 1.10–1.23 mm, SL: 0.96–1.08 mm. Head 0.77–0.82 times as wide as elytra, pronotum 0.98–1.02 times as long as wide, elytra 0.98–1.03 times as long as wide.

Distribution. China (Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Guangxi).

Remarks. Dianous aerator is extremely similar to D. ruginosus in appearance and both of them can be collected from same localities in Emeishan. The differences between the males are distinct, and the males may be identified by the shape of sternite VII, without dissection. However, there is no difference between the females, and thus the female specimens from Emeishan, Xianfeng Temple are not included in the species. The species is new to Guizhou.
