Haplophallonella Serban and Coineau

Amended genus diagnosis (after Serban and Coineau 1975a; Schminke 2011). A.I of 6 segments. Labrum similar to that of Habrobathynella ; with main teeth differentiated into two types: medial rectangular teeth and pointed teeth along outer rim. Mandible pars incisiva with 4 teeth, tooth of the ventral edge lacking; lobe with row of 3 – 4 large claws and 1 – 2 smaller ones. Maxilla 2-segmented; without palp. Male Th VIII with penial region formed by a smooth internal lobe and a dentate lobe with 2 – 3 denticles; external lobe with very short terminal part and fused or not with basipod; basipod with strong seta; exopod articulated distally on surface of basipod, claw-like; endopod and its setation completely reduced. Female Th VIII resembles a flake, nearly triangular in shape. Pleotelson and its appendages similar in structure to those of Habrobathynella . Lateral seta of pleotelson short.

Type species Haplophallonella heterodonta Serban and Coineau. Type locality: interstitial of Bandama River, near Lamto, Ivory Coast.
