CURRENT STATUS: Valid subgenus of Exorista Meigen, 1803 [ teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 124 ; as “ Thrycolyga ”)].

FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .

REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Thrycolyga (page 68) and Tricoliga (page 225). By subsequent usage (ICZN Code Article 24.2.4), Rondani (1862b: 10) acted as First Reviser and selected Tricoliga as the correct original spelling. Although Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 124) gave the method of type fixation for Tricoliga (as “ Thrycolyga ”) in Rondani (1856: 68) as by original designation, they listed the type species as dating from Rondani (1859b: 187). This is incorrect. The characters in Rondani (1856: 68) that make the genus-group name available serve to also make available Tricoliga nova as the singly included species.
