[Semiomya] Rondani, 1859b: 231.
CURRENT STATUS: Unavailable name; name proposed in synonymy [with Trixa Meigen, 1824 ] and not made available by subsequent usage before 1961; treated under Trixa Meigen, 1824 [ teste Coquillett (1910: 605) ].
FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .
REMARKS: Macquart (1848: 102–103) cited “ Semiomyia Imhoffii, Bremi in litt.” and “ Semiomyia Amsteinii, Bremi in litt.” in synonymy with his new species Trixa imhoffii Macquart, 1848 and Trixa amsteinii Macquart, 1848 , respectively. Since Macquart’s (1848) Semiomyia was proposed in synonymy with Trixa Meigen, 1824 and not made available by subsequent usage before 1961, it is an unavailable name. Rondani cited the name as “ Semiomya Bremi”, also in synonymy with Trixa . Rondani’s (1859b) Semiomya was not made available by subsequent usage before 1961. Semiomyia Macquart, 1848 and Semiomya Rondani, 1859 are missing from recent regional Diptera catalogs but at least the former has been listed by Bezzi & Stein (1907: 438; as “ Semiomyia Bremi in litt. ap. Macq. 1848”) and Coquillett (1910: 605; as “ Semiomyia Bremi ”) under Trixa Meigen, 1824 , which we follow here.
