ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Tachina bisignata Meigen, 1824 .
TYPE SPECIES: Tachina bisignata Meigen, 1824 [= Tachina mutabilis Fallén, 1810 ], by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Meigenia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 145) ].
FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .
REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Spylosia (page 66) and Spilosia (page 223). By subsequent usage (ICZN Code Article 24.2.4), Rondani (1865b: 208) acted as First Reviser and selected Spylosia as the correct original spelling.
